Renée Michaud

Articling Student

Originally from Alberta, Renée moved to Ottawa in 2019 to attend Carleton University for her undergraduate degree. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Law and Legal Studies in 2023 before attending Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University, where she earned her Juris Doctor in May 2026.

Throughout law school, Renée gained practical legal experience working with the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights, the Ministry of the Attorney General’s Indigenous Justice Division, and a family law practice. She also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada in Thunder Bay, providing legal support to clients through the Indigenous Friendship Centre Human Rights Clinic and Kinna-aweya Legal Clinic. Renée is excited to begin her legal career in family and estate litigation and gain further experience advocating for clients through all stages of the litigation process.

Outside of the law, Renée enjoys spending time with her 14-year-old rescue beagle, Josie, and spending time with her friends and family.
